FAMILY NEWS: February 2023 / A New Home

I cannot believe we are already at the end of March! A lot has been happening in the last few weeks, so I am just now having the chance to write a February update. If you missed our January Family News, you can read it here.

I am excited to share we have moved our Restoration Home to a new location that better meets the needs of the girls in this season. Pictured above are the girls and the home manager, Ann (far left), standing in front of the new home. This home is close to their school, has the right amount of space they currently need, and features a large gardening area where they will be able to grow their own food (pictured below). This garden will not only help lower the food budget for the ministry, it’ll also serve as a great opportunity to teach the girls new life skills.

The team on the ground has worked very hard to get everything moved and set up in the new home. The girls were able to help with the setup this past week while they were on a week-long school break! Our Restoration Home is run like a family where everyone chips in to do their part.

I would like to share a few prayer requests with you and ask you to join us in praying for these things:

  • For the team and the girls as they continue to get settled in.

  • There is currently a drought in Kenya that is causing sickness and death. Please pray for the Lord to send rain on the land and provide water to those who need it.

  • For Ann’s mother, for healing from the chronic pain she suffers from in her body.

  • For Joyce’s (the Restoration Program Director) 23 years old nephew Peter, who is undergoing chemotherapy for a brain tumor, for God's healing.

  • For one of our older girls, Catherine. She recently graduated from high school and is now applying to nursing schools. Pray she gets into a great nursing school and can find temporary employment until classes start in September.

  • For our girls who are in middle and high school, for them to continue to improve in their studies, and that we will be able to locate a great tutor to assist a few of them with the harder subjects.

Thank you for the love and support you show through your generosity and your prayers. We could not serve these girls without you. If you are not currently a monthly partner, I'd like to invite you to join The Family. To help meet the growing needs of our Restorative Program in Kenya this year, we need 33 new people to partner with us at $50 a month. A big shoutout and thank you to those who recently joined The Family! We went from 40 to 33 so far this year!

Together for the one,
